I created this short stop motion animation scene along with my friend for my first production class last year. We decided to recreate Alfred Hitchcock's famous shower scene using dolls based on Norman Bates and Marion Crane. All the audio was created by my friend and I with the exception of the music and the blood-curdling scream. Posted on 3/13/2018
Human Affairs - Film Noir
A short film in the style of film noir that I helped create for a group project in a video production course. I contributed to the makeup design, set decoration, directing and editing of this project. Posted on 3/13/2018
Inspired by Maya Deren's Meshes of the Afternoon, this project created for my Introduction to Moving Image Art course explores a recurring nightmare that I have had for many years now. In my dream, I find myself stuck in a continuous loop of fragmented images, with the feeling of death or danger looming over me. Because my world and reality is very vibrant and colorful, I decided to make this film in monochrome, as it seems as though all memories from depressive stages in my life are recalled as being devoid of color. The downstairs world symbolizes nature, family, and safety, whereas the upstairs world represents a place of dark thoughts of death and struggles with sadness. This is one of the projects that I am most proud of, as it is the most personal one that I have created in my academic career thus far. Posted on 3/13/2018
A Nightmare Becomes Reality
As a follow-up to my previous trance short film, A Nightmare, this version is edited to include sound. While all is still not completely grounded in reality, the additional layer of sound adds to the eerie tone that this short film presents. Posted on 3/13/2018
Cinematic Portraiture of a Costumer
A glimpse into the process of costuming, as narrated by my father. This short experimental documentary chronicles a small part of the process of costuming, displaying footage of sewing and airbrushing on a costume that my father and I were working on last fall for myself.
This project was an experimental documentary assignment that I created with one other person, Janet, whose life is chronicled in this short essay film for an Introduction to Moving Image Art course. As Janet herself stated, "I fell in love with the movie “Bright Leaves” by Ross McElwee, a personal point-of-view documentary. I had become used to documentaries that tell a specific story about a particular subject, usually a time in history. I have been going through so many tumultuous changes the past few years that it seems to be getting to me more than usual lately. This last move from one apartment to another seems to have sent me to the ground and unpacking has been pretty nonexistent for me lately. I am hoping that working on this essay-style documentary look into my current situation will help me work through the difficulties I have been experiencing. I am also hoping that bringing someone else into the process of making this snapshot of my life will make some sense of, or bring some sort of validation to, the chaos that I have been feeling in this specific phase of my life." I filmed and edited this project, as I sought to bring Janet's vision to life.

Light Journals
A compilation of Light Journals created for an Introduction to Moving Image Art course. Originally, these minute-long videos were completely silent, and experimented with various lighting situations and camera movements. The first segment was done during early morning hours, utilizing the exterior natural lighting, comprised of tracking shots with a shallow depth of field. The second segment was done using interior artificial/stylized lighting, with long-medium shots using a panning camera movement. The third segment was also interior artificial/stylized lighting, only this time the shots included close-ups and were all done handheld.

Layniwise the Dancing Clown
My little sister loves IT. I made this short scene of her dancing in full Pennywise the Dancing Clown garb and inserted it into the scene from the film. All in good fun, as I wanted to surprise her with this for her birthday. Scene from IT (2017), directed by Andy Muschietti. All credit goes to New Line Cinema.

A Sense of Place
This project was for a Documentary Filmmaking course, and the concept was to capture a "sense of place" of a space. My talented boyfriend, Santiago Romero, and I sought to capture the feeling of anticipation that occurs when sitting down to watch a movie on a date. We filmed this project in my family's movie theater room, and we even pulled off a quick cameo at the end. We filmed and edited this project together. Posted on 11/14/2018
Interview
Also for a Documentary Filmmaking course, my group decided to interview Santiago's roommate and friend, Sam, about his experience with being red-green color blind. I helped with the filming and editing of this project. Posted on 11/14/2018
panda - A Horror Short by Santiago Romero
As part of our continued collaboration, I served as the Assistant Director on this short film, created by my boyfriend, Santi. Starring Greyson Venhaus as Soerygn and Samuel Laird as panda, this horror short invokes the paranoia of someone or something following you... unless it is all part of your imagination. This short was selected for the 2018 Cherry Reel Film Festival.
This short film was created as a final project for a Film Theory course, which was centered on Essay Films. Inspired by the Beaches of Agnes by Agnes Varda, I revisited the movies that have had an impact on my relationships, my interests, and my life in general through an essay film.
All rights go to Paramount, Disney, Lucasfilm, Sony, and Universal for all movie clips.

From Script to Screen
This short documentary was created as a final project for a Documentary Production class. In it, I reflect on the twists and turns through hardships and triumphs throughout my academic career, and how my original path down a road of Computer Engineering somehow lead me to finding my passion as a Filmmaker.
